Bring me to life
Epilogue
When the healer gave her the response, Kreshen almost jumped on him for
she was perhaps the happiest woman in all Middle Earth.
Thanking the old man for his help, the girl exited his room to run
into the courtyard, deciding that she had to tell it to Faramir first.
Opening the door with a bright smile, forgetting even to knock, she
found him in his favourite armchair, reading what seemed an ancient
book.
"You should be preparing that room at the bottom of the corridor
instead of being idle here..."
"Wha--" he began, stopping abruptly as the meaning of her words sunk
in, his blue eyes growing wide. He closed the book that was laid on
his knees and gulped nervously, all the while staring at his beloved,
a hint of a smile on his lips.
"You are not trying to tell me that.. well.. that... oh Valar...
I--I.."
"Yes...Daddy" she smiled happily, sitting on his knees and brushing
aside a lock of hair from his forehead.
"Our little babe is inside here" the girl whispered then, taking his
hand and placing it on her womb. "You will feel him move within months..."
Faramir said nothing this time, letting the pure emotion in his eyes,
now damp with happy tears, speak for him. For long moments he held her
tight within his arms, his face buried in her soft hair, feeling happy
beyond measure. In fact, he'd never felt so happy in his whole life
before that very moment.
A child.
They were going to have a child together, and the mere thought was
threatening to drive him mad with joy.
"Happy, are you?" she asked playfully, kissing his head and tightening
the embrace, knowing that even Boromir would be happy for them. Their
child. The one they’ve been waiting for months. A creature generated
from their love was to be born within eight months.
"Awfully happy" Faramir said softly, his voice muffled and filled with
emotion, without loosening the embrace at all.
"Does Boromir know already?"
"No, I’ve come straight to you" Kreshen smiled, gently caressing his
back. "And… I don’t know how but…I’ve this strong sensation that it
will be… a son…"
"Whatever it will be, I'm sure that I'll be too happy to complain
anyway" he chuckled, giving her a loud kiss on the cheek and then
another on the lips.
"I love you."
"I love you, too" she whispered against his lips, before kissing him
with the outmost tenderness, closing her eyes and firmly wrapping her
arms around his neck.
"I’ll love you forever…"
